Sharanabasappa M. Pappa, president of the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated an export‑promotion workshop in Kalaburagi. He emphasized the city’s potential to become a national textile hub through the PM MITRA Park.

The Union government has selected Kalaburagi as one of seven locations for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park. The Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board pledged ₹200 crore, while the state is developing the park on 1,000 acres, promising thousands of jobs.

Export Awareness Gap

Government Incentives and Support

Local entrepreneurs were urged to export directly, leveraging incentives from the government and the Department of Handlooms and Textiles. Abdul Azeem, Joint Director of the District Industries Centre, said cement, pulses, and bentonite are already exported, and new initiatives will accelerate this trend.

Export Training Programme

A six‑day Export Management Training Programme is being organized. Interested entrepreneurs can approach the newly established office of the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC) at the District Industries Centre.
