Umesh Chaurasia, a resident of Karni village, was attacked on Monday evening while returning home on a motorcycle after purchasing worship items from Malipur Camp town in Ballia district.
The assault took place near a turn towards Kaithi Mathiya village, where some individuals intercepted the motorcycle and assaulted Chaurasia. After falling from the bike, he was struck on the head with a bamboo stick.
