Vinyl Bar, a startup that sounds more like an indie band name, is based in Shibuya and aims to give music lovers an interactive, AI‑free playground for sound experimentation. After leaving Spotify in 2024, founder Máuhan M. Zonoozy turned his innovation expertise toward this new project.
The company raised $5.5 million in pre‑seed funding from investors including Mantis VC, SV Angel, Boxgroup, Quiet Capital, ERA, Common Metal, Gold House, Liquid 2 Ventures, Breakers VC, and Systemic Ventures, with former Spotify chief content and advertising officer Dawn Ostroff serving as an advisor.
The flagship product, an iOS app called bop, lets users place instruments and effects on a grid to remix a base track, adjust tempo, add one‑time effects, and export finished mixes directly to TikTok or Instagram. A multiplayer version is also in the works.
