A Noida couple, reeling from heavy losses in their cafe business, resorted to stealing from locked homes. Police apprehended the duo and an associate, recovering jewellery, cash, laptops and an Ertiga car used in the crimes.

Noida police have detained three suspects, including a married couple and a friend, after linking them to a string of daytime house robberies. The investigation revealed that the couple had previously operated cafés in Ghaziabad and Noida, but mounting financial losses pushed them toward crime.

Using an Ertiga car, the trio conducted reconnaissance of high‑rise societies and other affluent neighborhoods during the day. They targeted locked houses, stealing jewellery, cash, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. After each heist, they celebrated at local restaurants and bars into the night.

Authorities recovered approximately ₹3.5 lakh in cash, five laptops, two tablets, six mobile phones, and the Ertiga – which bore a fake number plate – from the suspects.

Police identified the accused as Kailash (alias Diwakar), his partner Sonali, and associate Irfan (alias Imran). Sonali played a pivotal role in scouting targets, while Diwakar and Irfan executed the burglaries.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Manisha Singh said the investigation is ongoing to uncover any further criminal links and prior offenses of the trio.
