Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu assured the Legislative Assembly that Andhra Pradesh holds 9.26 lakh tonnes of fertilizer, enough to meet demand through October 2026.

  • Total fertilizer stock stands at 9.26 lakh tonnes, including Urea and DAP.
  • The APAIMS 2.0 app-based system has successfully reduced fertilizer diversion and queues.
  • Over ₹14,664 crore has been transferred to farmers via DBT under the Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme.

In a significant update for the agricultural sector, Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu informed the Legislative Assembly that the state is well-equipped with fertilizer reserves. He stated that the current stock is sufficient to meet the projected requirements of the farming community until October 2026. The total inventory currently stands at 9.26 lakh tonnes, comprising 3.69 lakh tonnes of urea and 89,000 tonnes of DAP.

Streamlining Supply via APAIMS 2.0

Addressing concerns regarding supply chain disruptions, the Minister highlighted the success of the APAIMS 2.0 app-based distribution system. This scientific approach determines fertilizer requirements based on specific data points such as the cultivator's details, survey number, cultivated area, and crop recommendations from agricultural universities. This digital intervention has effectively minimized fertilizer diversion, prevented excess consumption, and eliminated long queues at distribution centers.

According to official data, approximately 15.69 lakh farmers have already utilized the app to procure 3.70 lakh tonnes of urea and 1.10 lakh tonnes of DAP. To assist tenant farmers and those not covered under the Webland system, the government has deployed RSK assistants at Rythu Seva Kendras, alongside establishing dedicated help desks and call centers.

Financial Empowerment: Annadatha Sukhibhava Scheme

The Minister also provided a detailed breakdown of financial assistance provided to the state's farmers. Since May 2024, a total of ₹14,664.33 crore has been deposited directly into farmers' bank accounts under the Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan scheme. This massive disbursement includes a ₹8,903 crore contribution from the State Government and ₹5,761 crore from the Central Government.

The integration of DBT with agricultural inputs marks a paradigm shift in transparent governance.

BozokMedia analysis shows that the use of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) linked to NPCI-enabled accounts has significantly reduced leakages. While some farmers faced initial hurdles due to inactive Aadhaar or bank mapping issues, the government has implemented a robust rectification process through Rythu Seva Kendras and digital portals to ensure no eligible farmer is left behind.
