The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur marked a significant milestone on Tuesday as it celebrated its 59th Convocation Ceremony. The event saw the conferment of degrees upon a diverse cohort of 3,104 students, spanning undergraduate, postgraduate, and the specialized eMasters programs. The graduating class featured 1,325 postgraduates, 1,247 undergraduates, and 532 eMasters scholars, reflecting the institute's expanding academic footprint.

Academic Excellence and Honors

The ceremony highlighted the exceptional academic prowess of the graduating batch. The highly coveted President's Gold Medal was awarded to Sagar KV from the Computer Science and Engineering department. The Director's Gold Medals were conferred upon Aditya V (BS, Statistics and Data Science) and Ritwik Shankar (BT-MT, Aerospace Engineering) for their outstanding performance. Additionally, the Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize was presented to Dhruv Budhedeo, recognizing excellence in the Aerospace Engineering discipline.
