Riftbound, Riot Games’ strategic card adaptation of the League of Legends universe, is poised to open a new chapter with its fourth booster set, “Vendetta.” The set introduces the rare champion unit Gangplank, a notorious pirate from the League’s lore.

Gangplank costs six and boasts six might. When empowered, the keyword transforms him into a tank. Any spell or ability that would normally stun, inflict negative might, or bounce him simply backfires, granting him an additional +3 might instead. This mechanic turns him into a formidable obstacle on the battlefield.

As a Body (Orange) card, Gangplank enjoys the benefits of staying Mighty and powerful while holding control over the field. Coupled with his rune tools and the range of effects he can nullify, he becomes a potent counter against spell‑heavy decks that rely on disruption.

Vendetta’s English release is slated for July 31, with pre‑release events kicking off on July 24 at local game stores. Interviews with Riot’s senior designer Jon Moormann and hands‑on impressions of the previous set “Unleashed” have amplified the anticipation for this new addition.
