BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra and opposition leader R. Ashok criticised the Karnataka Congress for launching a protest against the NEET question paper leak in Delhi while the state government has not yet identified those responsible for the death of 11 youths in a stampede near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and for the lathi‑charge on unemployed youth in North Karnataka protesting delayed government‑job recruitment.

In separate media interactions, Vijayendra alleged that opposition parties are using the NEET issue as a pretext to create unrest and anarchy. He highlighted that the Union government promptly ordered a re‑examination and introduced transparency reforms, whereas the Congress and its allies are seeking political mileage from the matter.

Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Vijayendra said Gandhi was abroad for 15‑20 days without showing concern for the NEET issue. Upon his return, Gandhi staged a protest that appeared to be a publicity stunt. Vijayendra added that the Centre is ready to hold exhaustive parliamentary discussions on NEET, but the opposition prefers street disturbances.

Ashok accused Gandhi of “fleeing the Lok Sabha” and alleged that he has aligned with the “Cockroach Janta Party,” refusing to attend parliamentary sessions.

Both leaders urged the Karnataka Congress to first bring the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) under control before taking up any NEET‑related agitation.
