The Tamil Nadu government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited for the expansion of its facility in Porur and Hitachi Energy India Limited's facility in Chengalpattu. The MoU was signed on July 7, 2026, in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat in Chennai. The expansion projects will involve an investment of ₹1,000 crore and will create 1,000 high-skilled technology jobs. The projects will be implemented over the next three to five years.
