In a stunning political development that has sent shockwaves through Telangana, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of the Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS), has accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership of accumulating massive illegal wealth. During her tour of the Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Kavitha alleged that approximately ₹1,400 crore currently held in BRS bank accounts is the result of corrupt 'quid pro quo' arrangements with contractors from the Andhra region.

Direct Allegations Against Family Members

The controversy has taken a deeply personal turn, as Kavitha did not mince words when targeting her own kin. She explicitly named her cousin, T. Harish Rao, and her brother, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), alleging their involvement in these corrupt dealings. She claimed that the BRS leadership systematically promoted specific companies close to the previous administration to facilitate these illegal transactions, thereby creating an ecosystem for institutionalized corruption.

Critique of the Current Administration

While focusing her primary attack on her former party, Kavitha also cast a critical eye on the incumbent Congress government. She urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to prioritize governance and public welfare over what she termed as 'political vendetta.' Kavitha suggested that the Congress party is merely following the same corrupt precedents set by the BRS, creating a cycle of malpractice in the state's administration.

Promises of Accountability and Social Redressal

Looking toward the future, Kavitha vowed that if her party ascends to power, a comprehensive review of all land allotments and contracts awarded to Andhra-based contractors during both the BRS and Congress regimes will be conducted. In a bid to appeal to social sentiments, she demanded that the ₹1,400 crore in disputed funds be redistributed to the families of Telangana martyrs. Furthermore, she raised concerns regarding the supply of milk to private educational institutions, advocating for the dominance of the state-run Vijaya Dairy to ensure transparency and quality.
