The Hi‑Tech City railway station in Hyderabad has emerged from a comprehensive makeover under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). South Central Railway (SCR) spokesperson A. Sridhar highlighted that this station is one of 40 across Telangana slated for upgrades totalling over ₹2,000 crore.

What the Upgrade Entails

The revamped facility now boasts a 12‑metre wide foot overbridge, additional elevators and escalators, clearer multilingual signage, modern restroom blocks, a spacious waiting hall, and dedicated accessibility features for persons with disabilities. A new entrance portico and expanded circulating areas improve passenger flow, while upgraded platform shelters protect commuters from the elements.

Operational Context

Located on the Lingampalli‑Secunderabad line within the Secunderabad Division, Hi‑Tech City serves roughly 62 MMTS (Multi‑Modal Transport System) services daily, linking Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Umdanagar, Falaknuma, Medchal and Ghatkesar. The station records an average footfall of about 3,000 passengers per day, making the enhancements particularly impactful for daily commuters.
