With the occurrence of an adhika masam this year, Tirumala will host two Brahmotsavams simultaneously, prompting the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to adopt a sweeping crowd‑management strategy. All special darshan formats have been suspended, and every department has been instructed to complete all preparatory work well ahead of schedule.

Key Outcomes of the High‑Level Review Meeting

The decision emerged from a high‑level review chaired by TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary at the Sudharma auditorium, Padmavathi Guest House. Attendees included Tirupati Joint Executive Officer A. Sarath, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer Muralikrishna, and senior officials from multiple divisions.

Festival Calendar and Major Events

The pre‑festival ritual Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam is slated for September 8, followed by Ankurarpanam on September 14 and Dhwajarohanam on September 15. The marquee Garuda Seva, which draws hundreds of thousands of devotees, will occur on September 19. Subsequent events include Rathotsavam on September 22 and Chakrasnanam on September 23. Vahana Sevas will be performed twice daily, from 8 a.m.–10 a.m. and 7 p.m.–9 p.m.

Restrictions on Special Darshans

Anticipating a massive turnout, TTD has cancelled all VIP break darshans for the duration of the Brahmotsavams, with protocol dignitaries as the sole exception. Darshan provisions for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents with infants, NRIs, and donors will also remain suspended throughout the festivities.

Comprehensive Crowd Management Measures

The Additional EO directed the vigilance and police wings to draft detailed security, traffic, and parking plans to prevent congestion across Tirumala. Departments were instructed to bolster queue‑management systems, guarantee uninterrupted distribution of ‘annaprasadam’ in queue complexes and galleries, and complete all engineering works required for pilgrim convenience before the festivals commence. Additional sanitation staff will be deployed to keep toilets and public areas spotless.

Two‑Wheeler Restrictions and Additional Amenities

To ease traffic during Garuda Seva, two‑wheelers will be barred from Tirumala ghat roads from 9 p.m. on September 18 until 6 a.m. on September 20. TTD also ordered that sufficient stocks of laddus be maintained to meet heightened demand. Youth volunteers will serve as Srivari Sevaks, guiding pilgrims and enhancing the festive ambience with electric lighting, fruit, and floral displays.
