Gurgaon, July 10 — In a high‑intensity encounter, the Gurgaon Police Crime Branch neutralised four suspects of the Deepak Nandal gang and injured a fifth during a shootout at Sushant Lok Phase‑2. The clash also resulted in three police personnel being wounded and rushed to a private super‑specialty hospital.

Incident Overview

According to police sources, a tip‑off from the control room indicated that armed suspects were travelling in a Mahindra Scorpio, planning to rob a local businessman’s residence. When the Crime Branch teams arrived, the suspects opened fire with sophisticated firearms, targeting the house and the police unit alike.

Police Response

The officers warned the assailants to surrender, but the gang members continued their barrage, attempting to flee the scene. In self‑defence, police returned fire, inflicting gunshot injuries on all five shooters. Four of the suspects were declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while the fifth remains under treatment. The three injured police officers are currently under medical observation.

Aftermath and Investigation

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Hitesh Yadav and DCP (East) Sandeep Kumar promptly visited the site. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams were deployed to collect ballistic evidence, weapons and other forensic material. Police officials stated that the identities, criminal histories of the deceased and injured suspects, as well as details of the recovered arms, will be disclosed after verification.
