The Andhra Pradesh administration reaffirmed its commitment on Saturday to resolve protracted employee issues. As part of this pledge, a Joint Staff Council (JSC) meeting involving every employee association will be convened at the Secretariat on July 21, providing a direct platform for dialogue between senior state officials and staff representatives.

Meeting Structure and Key Participants

The session will be chaired by the Chief Secretary, with preparatory inputs from Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, I&PR Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, and Revenue Minister Aanagani Satya Prasad. Representatives of the AP JAC Amaravati and other unions, led by chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, will present concerns ranging from welfare benefits to pending service matters.

Government Stance and Fiscal Constraints

Speaking to the press after the meeting, ministers disclosed that they have examined the 23 demands submitted by the unions. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly “positively inclined” to address these issues, albeit within the state’s tight budgetary limits. Further consultations with Finance Minister Keshav are slated before the JSC, and the council’s date could be advanced if necessary to accelerate resolutions.

Employee Expectations and Official Assurance

Union leaders emphasized anxieties over remuneration, promotions, and workplace safety. The government assured that each point will be escalated to the chief minister’s office and tackled through sustained dialogue. By linking employee welfare with efficient governance, the administration aims to maintain social stability while pursuing developmental goals.
