On Sunday, Neeraj Kumar Sinha, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for the Bankipur assembly byelection, visited the official residence of former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna. Accompanied by BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi and Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), Sinha sought the veteran leader’s blessings and strategic guidance ahead of the crucial vote.

The Bankipur constituency fell vacant after incumbent MLA Nitin Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha. The seat, known for its strong development record, became a litmus test for the party’s grassroots mobilisation. On July 10, after the withdrawal of Abhishek Kumar (Bunty), the BJP officially announced Sinha as its candidate.
