The dialogue centered on accelerating bilateral trade, investment, and technology collaboration between the two nations.

Key Sectors for Bilateral Cooperation

Both parties underscored major infrastructure initiatives under way in Telangana – the Musi River Development Project, the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, and the ambitious “Future City” plan. They explored how Canadian expertise in sustainable engineering, financing, and smart‑city solutions could be integrated into these projects.

Recent Canada‑Telangana Investment Highlights

Cooter pointed to two recent milestones: Firan Technology Group’s decision to set up a manufacturing facility in the state, and CIBC’s launch of a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. He also highlighted a strategic partnership between CPP Investments and Hyderabad‑based CtrlS Datacenters, with CPP committing up to CAD 1 billion in capital.

Telangana’s Competitive Edge in High‑Tech Sectors

CM Revanth Reddy outlined the state’s success story across information technology, life sciences, defence, and aerospace. Hyderabad’s ability to attract GCCs of Fortune‑500 firms was presented as a testament to its talent pool and business‑friendly ecosystem. The CM also reiterated the government’s plan to rejuvenate the Musi River, creating a green‑economy corridor that will host solar‑power projects and river‑front commercial zones.

Education and Knowledge‑Hub Ambitions

Looking ahead, the CM announced that several world‑renowned universities are in talks to establish campuses in Hyderabad. He specifically pitched the idea of a consortium of Canadian universities creating a multi‑university campus, which would deepen academic exchange and fuel the region’s innovation pipeline.

Invitation to Canada’s Business Community

Revanth Reddy welcomed the growing Canadian presence and invited Canadian corporations, investors, and academic institutions to the second edition of the Telangana Global Investors Summit slated for December. Cooter praised Telangana’s forward‑looking vision, noting the state’s “massive talent pool” as a catalyst for job creation. He pledged full support for the state’s initiatives and confirmed that a Canadian trade delegation will visit Telangana in the coming months to discuss energy, urbanisation, defence, and aerospace opportunities.

Attending the meeting were senior officials including K. Ramakrishna Rao (Advisor & Ex‑Officio Special Chief Secretary), B.
